Unless the third, quasi-cinematic episode is meant as one more reflexive turn – not back on the infrastructure of production, as in THE CASTING, or his “suicide bomber” piece at Postmasters, but back on the infrastructure of the museum world and its aspirations to mass audiences, drawn in through panderings to celebrity and Hollywood culture – it seemed to me to dilute the quite interesting tension between the first Nostalgia piece and the second. Another HUNGER would be nice, but the 30 minute section of Nostalgia made me think we’d get another RENDITION (another lousy American feature by a very skilled young director).
